Every once in a while, a worship song comes along that feels like it was written for you—for your exact heart posture, your exact season. For me, that song has been “Spirit of God” by Clearview Worship.
Full disclosure—Clearview is my home church, and Clearview Worship is our own worship team. But even if I weren’t connected to them, I’d still be telling people about this song. It’s that good.
The first time I heard “Spirit of God,” I felt something shift. The opening notes literally draw you in. The piano starts with this soft, almost pleading tone—like it’s making space for something sacred to happen. And then comes the violin… and honestly, I melt every time. There’s this swell of strings that feels like it’s wrapping itself around the lyrics, giving the words even more emotional weight. It’s beautiful, moving, and rich in a way that makes you pause—whether you’re in a church pew or listening with headphones.
I think that’s part of what makes this song so special. It’s not just about singing—it’s about surrender. About inviting the Holy Spirit to move in places we’ve been holding back. About making room for God to breathe fresh life into us.
There are days I come to church distracted or worn down from the week. Days when I’m holding onto stress, disappointment, or just the weight of busyness. And then this song begins, and suddenly I’m reminded of my real need—not just for solutions or comfort—but for God’s presence to fill me again.
If you’ve never heard “Spirit of God,” I challenge you to go listen. It’s available on YouTube and Apple Music, and I genuinely believe it will minister to you the way it’s ministered to me. Whether you’re driving in your car, going for a walk, or having quiet time with the Lord, let the music and the lyrics meet you where you are.
Worship is powerful. Music is powerful. And when both come together under the leading of the Holy Spirit… something beautiful happens.
Before you go, I’d love to know what you think after listening to this song. Did it speak to you the way it has to me? My prayer in sharing “Spirit of God” is that even if it only reaches one person, it would be enough to stir something new in their heart—maybe even lead them to Jesus for the very first time. If that person is you, or if this song encouraged you in any way, I’d love for you to share your thoughts in the comments.
